Hello everyone- Prosperous New Year to all!
We have just produced nine new coatings
based on feedback from the I.R.P. Four of them are suitable for
flameworking applications and five of them are exclusively for our
laser imaging services. You will be hearing more about them as our
Flameworking team posts information on their qualities.
We
have introduced a new red which we are calling Cherry,a
very solid red, especially for jewelry. Also
we have a new green which we are calling Spring Green,
a very smooth consistent green. One of the biggest new coatings
we are introducing is our incredible new Starship II,and
our amazing new Starship III. These coatings are
assured to cause a serious revolution in dichroic glass art. The
Starship II mission in life is to give the production worker
a consistent smooth rainbow pattern, similiar to our original Starship/Tical
except there will be larger bands of one color with less colors
throughout the sheet. Around 7 different color bands under any light
source,as opposed to our original Starship has 10-14 bands of color
depending on your light source. The best part of this aspect is
that the sheet gives you bigger zones to pull solid color canes
for production and the sheet does not flake anywhere on
the sheet, which was a major problem for production workers on our
original Starship/Tical.
To clarify, our original starship/Tical
is the heaviest coating on the market and that is why it flakes
off on one section. Due to that sensitive flaking area, in the rest
of the sheet you can get unbelievable results as you can see with
the work of greats such as Jason Lee in Burlington VT, JP from Ithica
NY,or Darby Holm in Grants Pass OR. It works really well if your
goal is to blow someone away by blinding them for several hours
with the flick of your wrist and you have the time to really pay
attention to the different zones and map the sheet out like some
mad scientist...but not everyone does!!!!! So we have introduced
these new coatings. Starship III is very similiar to our original
starship except we have made one change--NO FLAKING!!!There won't
be the section that flakes, ,and Starship III will have more colors
than the original did! (Wow-that is alot of colors) Testing is ongoing, but
we estimate about 30 days for completion.
We have also developed a new series
of coatings specifically for using on Dichroic Alchemy images. The
new Series we are calling our Fine Line coatings series so named
for it's ability to keep a smooth bright sheen without breaking
up or distorting the images. In order for a coating to be accepted
into the fine line series it must be able to be heated
and encased without breaking up at all so all Fine Line
detail from our patent pending laser surgery engraver is not lost!!
The new colors in the Fine Line Coating
Series are:
Ruby Red
Emerald Green
Golden
Orange Citrine
On another subject, we ran across this
25mm heavy wall blue tubing. It is of exceptional
quality and the only good blue tubing wehave seen. When you add Northstar
color and dichroic to this blue tubing it instantly transforms into
an amazing array of new possibilities for everyone. Don't get this
product from the wrong distributor though! There are many lesser
quality imitations. Call us here (866-434-2476) and we can put you
in touch with the distributors who have the best price and the really
good quality blue tubing.
