We are accumulating a suggestion’s manual on the dichrosilicate
as well as the colorsilicate tube by having BoroArtists try
out the tube and come up with techniques that are improved
by the use of this medium. So far, we have seen that all dichroic
production technique is improved and new opportunities are
now available with use of this tube. If you use dichroic in
your production, please call us at 866-4 DICHRO (866-434-2476)
to get info on improving your process with these new developments.

Please enjoy this brief demo
by Jason Lee as a preview of techniques to come!
We will be adding comments
and techniques in our forum under the heading Colorsilicate/Dichrosilicate
Tube. Also, keep checking for more posted info in
the resource area.

Basic Concepts
in Dichrosilicate™ Tube Use:
1.) Cut your
clear sleeve down to the size you will use for one section
or piece.
2.) Cut your
dichrosilicate™ tube down to the size you will use for
one section or piece.
3.) Clean both
pieces with towel or glass cleaner and distilled water for
a rinse. (Not necessary, but can't hurt)
4.) Put clear
sleeve and dichrosilicate section in kiln to 1050 degrees
farenheit.5.) Attach
blow tube (point) to dichrosilicate tube.
6.) Slide clear
sleeve over dichrosilicate tube. Heat the end opposite of
your blow tube to close the clear end over dichrosilicate
end and, in effect, weld the 2 tubes together at the end and
close it up to create and seal pressure inside the tube.
7.) By plugging
your blowhose with a stopper or swivel stopper with hose attached
for breathing you create pressure that helps the inner tube
expand slightly to push air out as you marver.
8.) Using DC
Tools L-Marver and a graphite paddle you can marver the air
out quickly and easily. This is shown in detail by glassmaster
Jason Lee in our upcomming second video.

I make friends of them” –Abraham Lincoln
